Moms who lived through the 90’s can get your happy dance on–Clearly Canadian is ba-aaaack! And, it makes for the easiest, tastiest mixer ever in my Blackberry Spritz wine cocktail.
I became downright giddy when I found the unmistakable blue tinted bottles of Clearly Canadian at World Market. I’m pretty sure I laughed out loud, then tried to explain to my children how obsessed I was with these little bottles of bubbly when I was in middle school. Of course, I snagged a case of my favs, the Mountain Blackberry. Well, it didn’t take me long to pair my old obsession with my newest (limoncello, of course!). The result was a Clearly Canadian cocktail that you’ll want to guzzle: Blackberry Spritz.
Attention all children of the 90s: the worlds easiest, most refreshing, and just downright delightful bevvy can be found right here in the Clearly Canadian cocktail of your dreams, the Blackberry Spritz.
Can You Still Buy Clearly Canadian?
Yes ma’am you can! I found it first at World Market. It was like angels were singing from above. But, now I look for it everywhere. So, I’ve found it at various grocery chains–even the Piggly Wiggly. I swear.
Get to looking, and I promise you’ll find it somewhere in your neighborhood.
Clearly Canadian Substitute
Okay, let’s assume that there is an equivalent, which there isn’t, but a viable runner up is Izze Sparkling Blackberry. It’s definitely not exactly the same, but it’ll do in a pinch. Honestly, I’ve used both and I’m a fan either way. So, if you want to get similar flavors but just can’t put your hands on the beloved Mountain Blackberry, then go ahead and grab an Izze.
Added bonus: it makes for a pretty color, too!
How to Make Clearly Canadian Blackberry Spritz Cocktail
This super easy wine spritzer was my go-to spring wine cocktail this year. I fell in love with this easy cocktail! It’s so simple because this is a 3 ingredient cocktail. First, you’ll add a bit of Limoncello. Then, add your sparkling white wine (Prosecco), and top with Mountain Blackberry Clearly Canadian.
That’s it! It’s so simple & refreshing. Lemon, blackberry & prosecco….HELLO! It’s a dream.
CLEARLY CANADIAN COCKTAIL: BLACKBERRY SPRITZ
Turn your fav 90's Clearly Canadian into an easy flavor packed cocktail that's gonna rock your face off.
Ingredients
- 1/2 oz. Limoncello (Pallini or Caravella are two widely available brands)
- 3 oz. Prosecco (or any dry bubbly white wine)
- 2-3 oz. Mountain Blackberry Clearly Canadian Sparkling Water
Instructions
- Make sure that all of your ingredients are chilled (at least the wine and the Clearly Canadian).
- Add the Limoncello.
- Fill your glass about half way with your sparkling wine.
- Top with Clearly Canadian.
- Garnish with lemon wheels and/or blackberries. No need to stir.
Notes
- Izze Sparkling Blackberry may be used in place of the Mountain Blackberry Clearly Canadian. It may add a touch more sweetness, so you may want to add a bit more Prosecco to offset the sweeter taste.
- Every glass will be different, so adjust amounts of ingredients as they suit your tastes.
- Also, I've had this over ice many times, and it's great! It does get a little more watered down, but it definitely tastes fabulous.
- If you have frozen blackberries, this is a great way to keep the drink cold longer. They act like little ice cubes without watering down the bevvy.
- If making for a crowd, you can start with 1/2 c. of limoncello + 1 bottle of prosecco + 2 bottles of Clearly Canadian. You can always add more limoncello if required. Just make sure that all ingredients are chilled first. Then, make it and serve immediately.

Clearly Canadian Cocktail for a Crowd
This could easily be turned into a cocktail for a crowd. Just start by chilling all of your ingredients & grabbing a pitcher. Add the lemoncello first, then prosecco, then Clearly Canadian. You’ll want to start with about 3/4-1c. of Limoncello. Add the whole bottle of prosecco. Then, add at least 2 bottles of Clearly Canadian.
Don’t forget to garnish with a few lemon slices and fresh (or frozen) blackberries. If you’re serving a crowd, you’re gonna wanna make it pretty.
This can be served over ice, or just as is. Have a few chilled bottles of Clearly Canadian on hand, so guests can add a little extra to their own glass depending on their taste.
