Strawberry season never tasted so good! Strawberry Basil Spritz is a light & refreshing wine spritzer that is the perfect spring or summer daytime bevvy for brunch, showers, or just hanging with the girls.
One of my favorite white wines at Trader Joe’s is used to make this super easy Strawberry Basil Spritz. Grab 2 more ingredients while you’re there & you’re well on your way to the best springtime cocktail this lady’s had in some time.
With 3 simple ingredients, this Strawberry Basil Spritz is gonna have your ladies happy & festive whatever the occasion. Keep reading to see how we throw this little beauty together.

WHAT IS A WINE SPRITZER MADE OF?
You can take any white wine, prosecco, sparkling white, or even some reds & rosés and turn them into a spritzer. If you have wine, a bubbly carbonated mixer (club soda, flavored soda, or even flavored sparkling water)–you’ve already got a party waiting in the wings.
The key is to make sure BOTH wine & mixer are completely cold. Otherwise, you’ll make the mistake of adding ice…which will just water it down…blah.
Also, if you’re using any fruit as garnish or flavorings (like I do here in this Strawberry Basil Spritz)–make sure those are ice cold or even frozen!
They can sometimes take the place of ice cubes in keeping these fun sparkling bevvies cold without watering them down.
WHAT WINE IS GOOD FOR SPRTIZERS?
Honestly, I prefer either a Prosecco or a white wine with a bit of effervescence to it over just a flat white wine for any kind of spritzer–not just this Strawberry Basil Spritz. That said, you can certainly use either flat or bubbly wine.
Everyone & their grandma will have an opinion about WHITE or RED. Then, even more opinions about what variety of white or red. My two cents is that you should stick with a pino grigio, sauvignon blanc, or something in that “light, slightly fruity, easy drinking” family of wines. Save the Chardonnay for another time.
Every time I’m at Trader Joe’s (or my local female owned & operated wine store), I grab this Espiral Vinho Verde ($5!!) & it’s a winner every single time. (They also make a rose of this that’s tasty, too). And, this is our wine base for this particular festive Strawberry Basil Spritz.

STRAWBERRY BASIL FRENCH SODA
Our mixer in this cocktail is this beautifully light pink colored Strawberry Basil French Soda. I grabbed this lovely one at World Market. Actually, you should 100% explore the World Market international food isles. They’ve got a ton of fun sodas, waters & mixers with a ton of unique flavors just begging to be mixed into a lovely cocktail!
This particular one is not too sweet and tastes just lovely and natural. It’s the perfect pairing for this Vino Verde. The addition of the hint of basil in the soda is just the perfect herbaceous touch to really round out this cocktail for super easy sipping.
Your ladies are gonna gush about this one!
